PROJECT: “WEEKEND LIVE JAZZ”
Weekend Live Jazz is a series of gigs to draw people to the Gateway Mall via live entertainment. Jazz has been the preferred genre as it is in line with the image they want to set for Gateway Mall.
THEMED NIGHTS
The gigs are to be held on Fridays and Saturdays. Each night has a concept.
LATIN Fridays
FUSION Saturdays
SCHEDULE
The project is from April to September 2005. The gig schedule per night is as follows:
Fridays: 7-9 PM 2sets of 45 minutes
Saturdays: 7-9 PM 2sets of 45 minutes
PROMOTION
The Araneta Center shall advertise the project and the featured artists using media ads and on-site merchandising materials around the Araneta Center and the Gateway Mall.
THE ARTISTS
The artists participating in the Weekend Live Jazz series collectively represent the Jazz Society of the Philippines. It is recommended that all of these artists become bonafide members of Jazzphil, and as of this posting, not all who have signed up are Jazzphil members. This way the jazz community can promote jazz through this project “as one unified community”.
Each themed night shall have a pool of artists/groups that will alternate every weekend. The objective is to have a different group every week and for one group to perform one show every month. Some groups may get to perform two shows a month depending on availability.
There should be around 12-15 groups for the whole project.
All performances will have vocals.
