New Jazz CD Releases

PINAY JAZZ VOCALIST AMAZES HOLLYWOOD

Charmaine Clamor, the alto voice in the renowned vocal harmony quintet CRESCENDO (www.Crescendo5.com), released her first solo CD last week to packed houses and rave reviews. Clamor's new album, "Searching for the Soul," on California-based FreeHam Records, inspired JAZZ NEWS to proclaim, "This recording should be nominated for a Grammy ...and win!" Clamor, a proud Pinay born in Olongapo City, filled the world-famous Catalina Bar & Grill Jazz Club in Hollywood last week and then wowed the crowd in Seattle at her concert at the The Triple Door theater. Her dark contralto has earned her comparisons to Cassandra Wilson and Dianne Reeves, but Filipino members of the audience especially like that she includes at least one "kundiman" per concert, singing in her native Tagalog. Charmaine's album can be sampled online at www.CDBaby.com/cd/cclamor.
